Using OEM driver sources means the driver updates are created by the hardware manufacturer and are designed to be a perfect match. Although this isn’t as good as using drivers from an OEM source, it’s at least something. In our research, we learned that minimal testing is required to receive Microsoft WHQL certification. On its website, the developer claims that the drivers have passed Microsoft WHQL tests and IOBit Review tests but doesn’t provide any context as to what those are.
The only real downside to the program is it doesn’t guarantee its driver downloads to be from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
